Free Cleft Lip, Palate Repairs and Facial Reconstructive Surgery

In October 2009 Celebration Health partnered with the Ministry of
Health and Child Welfare (MoHCW), University of Zimbabwe College of
Health Sciences (UZ-CHS) Department of Surgery and the USA-Based LEAP
Foundation to conduct free cleft lip and palate and craniofacial
reconstructive operations; it the last 2 years a total of 88 children
benefited from these operations.

This September 2011 the LEAP Foundation is once again coming to
perform these operations from 18th to 23rd of September 2011 in Ward
C1, Harare Central Hospital. On behalf of our partners, Celebration
Health is requesting children who operated and were screened in
October 2010 by the Leap Foundation and those who have been placed on
the waiting list at Parirenyatwa Dental Center to come Ward C1 Harare
Hospital on the 18th of September 2011 for review. Children with
similar conditions such as cleft lips and/or palates, congenitally
absent ears, other facial and finger deformities and disfiguring
injuries should also come for screening at The Childrens Hospital
(Ward C1) Harare Central Hospital on the 18th of September 2011. They
should bring their relevant medical documents with them. Screening
will begin at 8 am.
