Tears of joy flowed freely and cries of jubilation echoed throughout the Celebration Centre, Harare on the 10^th of January as Pastor Tommy Deuschle, in a repeat of the previous night’s events, got on his knee and asked Rachel Fleming to marry him .The proposal in front of an ecstatic 3000 strong crowd was the culmination of Rachel’s first visit to Africa. Although Pastor Tommy had previously eluded to the presence of a special someone in his life, the congregation was unprepared for the magnitude of the announcement. Within minutes, the news of the engagement had spread around the globe as people SMSed, called, and emailed relatives across the world. Congratulatory messages have flooded in from as far away as . Pastor Tommy met Rachel, who is completing her final year at Oral Roberts University, in early 2009 and they have been pursuing a fairy tale romance ever since then. Dates of the wedding have yet to be announced, but plans are underway for what will undoubtedly be the event of the year.
